They did a soft opening on Tuesday, and we went last night! The staff were attentive, the service was good and the portions were huge! For their reopening, they gave my girls each a balloon, we all got a pen, and they took a picture for us to take time. Highly recommend if you haven't gone yet.

I'm amazed by the attention to detail in the service. It's been a long time since I've seen a restaurant with such good service and friendliness in every detail. The food is fabulous and very good quality.

Had a wonderful meal last night with some good friends at the newly renovated August 8 restaurant. The restaurant was cozy and stylish, the food was delicious and the service was super friendly. Definitely a great place for a gathering - highly recommend!

We visited August 8 to celebrate my daughter’s birthday, and the experience was absolutely wonderful. The staff surprised us with a thoughtful and cheerful “Happy Birthday” moment, which made the day even more special for our family. The service was attentive, the atmosphere was cozy, and the food was excellent as always. We truly appreciated the warm hospitality and the extra effort the team put into making our visit memorable. Thank you for helping us create such a beautiful birthday memory!

I’m so happy to see this sushi place return! The new menu is absolutely delicious—more menu options than the Paramount location. More dessert options in particular and tataki options. The only downside is the new 2.4% surcharge for credit card, so bring cash or debit. Despite this, it is clear they’ve worked hard to bring back an even better experience with their renovations. It feels much brighter and more spacious. They haven’t formally brought back their frozen dimsum take-out options but we hope they bring it back. The highlight, however, is the amazing service. Marla, our server, is always so kind and attentive, especially with elderly parents. She goes above and beyond to make sure they’re comfortable and taken care of. It’s rare to find such wonderful service combined with great food! Highly recommend checking this place out, you won’t be disappointed!

The food is so so so so good. Honestly one of my favourite sushi places i’ve been to in Canada. The fish is always fresh tasting and flavourful. The atmosphere is so warm and inviting. The servers are always kind and efficient!

2025.04 We came for the first time since they reopened late last year or early this year. Everything we ordered was very fresh, and tasted well. The staff was very friendly and often checked in about food quality and proactively came to add water. Our favourite dishes include sashimi especially the scallop and octopus, salmon avocado roll, California roll, coconut shrimps, beef tataki, wagyu steak, beef skewers, deep fried squid, chive dumplings, and spare ribs. The only thing I felt as a bit not customer centric is that they recently added a surcharge for the use of credit card to pay bills. Overall, I would recommend this restaurant.
